It is an honor beyond words. Soto’s Interior Workroom has been selected as a collaborator for “Paraíso Encontrado” — a breathtaking room installation designed for the 50th edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York, one of the most prestigious milestones in the history of American interior design.
A Room Born from Film and Memory
The designer behind this extraordinary space drew inspiration from Alfonso Cuarón’s 1998 film adaptation of Great Expectations — a visually stunning story set within a grand, decaying Art Deco mansion. The eccentric estate in the film was named Paradiso Perduto (Paradise Lost). This room is its modern reimagining — Paraíso Encontrado (Paradise Found).
The result is nothing short of theatrical. Every surface, every object, every material tells part of the story — from the dramatic Cipollino Verde marble by ARCA lining the walls and vanity, to the intricate Casino Royale mosaic floor by Artistic Tile, to the vivid Kohler clawfoot tub dramatically framed in flowing fabric and fringe. A sculptural Campana Brothers mirror anchors the vanity, and a commissioned portrait of Tamara Feldman by Clemente Studio adds a deeply personal and cinematic final touch.
